This is not the kind of thing I usually do, but I ended up playing with Photoshop last night and this was the result: a steampunk wallpaper! I was really just messing around, but I was so pleased with how this turned out that I decided to put it up here as well.

Resolution is 1280 x 800 (download for full size); 1024 x 768 version is here: [link]

Important Note about Using: As a wallpaper, you are of course free to use it on your personal computer-- that's what it's for. But I would appreciate it if you didn't use this in other projects-- photomanips, combinations with other wallpapers, or new creations like that. If you want to use it for a project (like a book cover) please e-mail me for information about licensing.

If it's something that's only going to live on your computer, that's fine. But I'd prefer if you didn't collage it and then use it in a deviation or anything.

Mm. Most of it was that I saw a steampunk wallpaper site, and went "Those are lame. I can do better." Then I opened all the stock photos I had that involved clockwork, and sort of started... fiddling around. I threw in some textures and tree-branch brushes, and an hour or two later I had this.

I keep meaning to make another one since this is so popular, but somehow I never get 'round to it. :)
