Mural done for my younger sister's room, a collaboration with fellow artist Carleen Rivera. I did the two main walls with the castle, as well as Link and Zelda, she painted the landscape on the remaining wall. There's also one of the stone spirits from Spirited Away next to the door (not shown) and Howl's Castle might get painted in at a later date.
Medium: Acrylic paints
Time: 4 days
Link and Zelda are (c) Nintendo
Wow that is amazing! It's a hard task to paint walls, may I ask wich paint is good to use for such a task? I'm moving soon and I don't have a clue wich paint is suitable for painting artworks on a wall...
It's a real lovely job you both did! I'm sure your little sis will love it!
Oh my gosh, that's totally awesome!!! ^___^ Great job!! I totally wish that I could paint a room with a cool theme like that... Not even me paint one, just live in one! <=O Luccckkyy!

Ah, for the really big areas like the grass and the sky, we used some old housepaint we had left over from other projects. Then once we had the basic colors blocked in we used normal Liquitex acrylics for the details. Really, any housepaint/acrylics should work, as long as you don't try to mix oil-based paint with water-based paint.
We've actually done this before in our house... when I was much younger (around 8 or 9) my mom painted an ocean theme in my room. (I helped paint some fish and an octopus. ) My brother had a Disney theme, then a space theme (which was really cool, but really dark) and then... something else, before it wound up just being plain blue. I swear, there must be half an inch of paint on some of those upstairs rooms.
I'm open for commissions. I'm going to try and do this in Indy, make some extra cash on the side...

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
